The notion of lifelong learning has become a widely accepted reality. The constantly evolving environment exerts a significant influence on our daily lives, and we are perpetually acquiring new knowledge, whether we are consciously aware of it or not. In light of this, it is best to be able to identify what and how we are enriching our minds, so we thought of a motivating and engaging way to support and guide people who work in companies to improve themselves, their work and the company they work for.

Which roles have the potential to enhance all aspects of an individual's life, both personally and professionally? A significant role to be considered is that of the researcher. Undertaking independent research on a specific subject is undoubtedly a commendable attribute. However, it necessitates deliberate practice and expert guidance to ensure its refinement and enhancement. Secondly, it is imperative to acknowledge the role of the technology user and expert, a role that is universally unavoidable. It is essential that we understand how to use technology to our own advantage and how to identify the most reliable sources that are applicable to our activities.

Another important aspect of professional life is the routine that sometimes undermines our efforts to innovate and improve our work. Therefore, the opportunity to re-engage in new projects as a thinker and a sense maker is another role we want to emphasise through the Crafting Whys projects. Our intention is to provide individuals and organisations with real learning, not just relevant learning. We want people to be able to use the skills they develop and improve through working with us in their daily lives and activities. Consequently, another role we want to strengthen is that of a catalyst for change.

Finally, the professional environment is becoming increasingly complex and fast paced, so we would like to mention another essential role that we want to promote. The ability to learn proactively and to sense when the context calls for self-directed learning is a lifelong attribute that forms a mindset that is both present and future ready.
